FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How far in advance should I book my session?

It's never too early to request a session! Especially if you are interested in a newborn session. I have limited openings, so I do tend to book rather quickly. Please send a Contact form to request a session. Newborn sessions MUST be booked in advance (recommend 2nd trimester) so we can work together to prepare the details of your session.

How far will you travel?

I will travel 30 minutes from East Greenwich (08020) for the listed price. If you would like to do your session at a further location, let me know and I am happy to discuss travel fees for the specific location.

What form(s) of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, personal checks, or PayPal (3% additional fee to use PayPal). A $100 non-refundable retainer is due at the time of booking. The balance is due at the time of the session (if a package is purchased, the balance is due at the time of the first session in that package)

Any suggestions about what we should wear for the photos?

it's always important to be yourselves so your pictures best reflect your family members. The days of "matchy-matchy" (think: all white t-shirts and jeans) are in the past! So think more along the lines of coordinating colors/patterns among your family members. Often times, mom (for example) will have on a patterned dress, and the husband and kids will have on outfits with colors pulled from the various colors in mom's dress. This will pull a group together. Sometimes its just a scarf or a small piece that can connect the various outfits.

I recommend staying away from REALLY bright/fluorescent colors as they often create a color cast on your other family members. And strongly suggest nothing with a logo or picture on it. Keep clothes more classic- and don't forget the accessories, which are often what really makes an outfit pop. A scarf, fun jewelry, a jacket, tasteful bow in a child's/baby's hair... etc.  And don't forget the feet! stay away from the Crocs/sneakers and opt for cute boots, boat shoes, etc.

Most of all, make sure the outfits reflect your style and make you feel comfortable and confident!

Do you supply props or should we bring them ourselves?

I have a studio full of all props for newborn sessions (headbands, hats, outfits, wraps, buckets, and other props) If you have any props you would like to incorporate, please let me know in advance (preferably on the Newborn session Questionnaire) so we can discuss how to best incorporate the items into my existing style and the style of the rest of your session.

When will I receive my photos?

All photos are edited, formatted and shared via an online private gallery. It typically takes about 1-2 weeks to edit all photos. I will keep you informed of my progress. Possible delays expected during the pre-holiday season.

Will I have the rights to all photos?

Bethany Purdue Photography retains the rights to the photos. Clients will have PRINTING rights to their photos and will receive a form stating the terms. Clients may print as they desire (though, i would recommend using a decent company like mpix.com to ensure the highest quality!) You are NOT permitted to edit or crop the photos or submit to contests, etc without obtaining written permission from BPP.

Will my photos appear online?

Yes. All photos are subject to being used promotionally on the BPP Facebook page, this website, and other photography related sites. If you have a special circumstance where you wish to not have your photos published or have certain restriction requests, please notify BPP.
